No, it’s not a wonder pill and it’s not quite as easy as it sounds.
Researchers at the University of North Carolina studied the “after-effect” of exercise from a calorie-burn perspective.
The research found that just 45 minutes of moderate exercise (only 57% maximum intensity) created an initial calorie burn of 519 calories from riding a bike. Then, over the next 14 hours of doing absolutely NOTHING there was an additional 190 calories were burned by the body at rest!
You see, exercise burns calories well past the point when you call it quits.
But there’s even better news than the what this study reported.
You can nearly DOUBLE the effect of this after-burn by resistance training. Resistance training, compared to cardio exercise (like bike riding) creates almost twice the after-burn.
So, you get far more bang for your buck.
If you do the math, you’ll melt off more than a pound per week with only three of the resistance/cardio-combo weight loss exercises a week.
You can DOUBLE THAT if you simply cut your carbs out of your first and last meals.
You see, fat-burning does not have to be complicated. You just need a simple plan that’s backed by science.
