There is no easy weight loss diet or magic potion for weight loss. It is all about keeping yourself focused on what needs to be done to loss weight and staying the course for an extended period of time.
Here are a few sure fire ways to stay on your diet, have some fun with it, and lose some weight.
If you are starting a diet plan one thing that you do not want to do is set a goal for losing say 20 pounds in the next two week. I know we have all heard that we should set goals for how much weight to lose. But we have no control of how much our body will loss and when we will lose the weight. The negative side of this is that when we do not reach the goal negative thoughts start to happen that make us feel like we failed. Instead establish vows that you will change to help you get to your desired weight. So set a goal like I am going to walk 20 minutes every day or I am going to eat 5 serving of fruits and vegetables per day. Because these are the things that will help you get to your desired weight. So do the things you vow to do and the weight loss will follow.
The second tip is about how fast we eat our food. Do you eat like a crazy person because you find yourself with not enough time to eat? You want to train yourself to slow down and enjoy the food. You do not want to inhale it. The problem is that it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to recognize that your stomach is full. So when you are eating like crazy because you think you are still hungry but in fact you are not. It is that your brain has not caught up with how much you have eaten. Then you will feel over stuffed and you will have consumed more food than you need to satisfy your craving. So slow down when you are eating so your brain has enough time to register your intake and tells you that you have had enough by giving you that full feeling. This will help you to eat less food when you eat slowly.
The third weight loss rule is never eat snack food out of a bag or carton because you can not control how much you are eating. Now if you want to eat carrots or celery out of a bag that is OK. So when you want potato chips, cookies, ice cream, etc. take a cup or bowl and put a small measured amount in it. This way you will only consume that small measured amount versus and unknown amount if you were to eat it out of the bag or carton.
The fourth tip is how we can eat more healthy with the foods we like. Do you like pasta for example? Pasta when you are dieting is OK . The low carb craze is over. But pasta does have a lot of calories. There is about 200 calories in a cup of cooked pasta. So when you look at a cup of pasta you say that is not a lot of food. So to make the pasta a little more healthy and feeling mix in your favorite chopped vegetables or beans to it to increase the portion for your consumption. You have doubled your portions but you have not doubled your calories. You will feel more satisfied and you will be getting more nutrients which is important when you are on the diet solution program.
